Thales Academy, a network of private, PreK-12 schools, combines modern management principles with proven pedagogical methods to deliver an exceptional, well-rounded education at an affordable cost. Utilizing Direct Instruction, a research-based, proven curriculum for Pre-K through 5th grade, Thales groups students by skill level and teaches each subject to mastery, laying the foundation for later subjects and lifelong learning. In Grades 6 through12 students transition to a classical curriculum studying the great books of the Western Canon, Latin, Spanish, engineering, logic, rhetoric, and philosophy. At each step Thales integrates character education, soft skill development, and training in the latest technologies. Through Thales Press, the academy also publishes textbooks, seminar readings, and videos to supplement classical curricula. If awarded the million dollar Yass Prize, Thales will expand its publishing operations and develop a classical-compliant Mathematics program – one that encourages discovery through replication of the experiments and problems from which scientific knowledge is derived.
