YASS Summit

The Yass Summit celebrated the 64 Yass Prize Quarterfinalist and kicked off with a VIP Reception at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on October 9th that featured The Spinners. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame calls The Spinners, “one of the most beloved R&B vocal groups in the world, celebrated by fans and fellow artists alike. Initially a Motown band with Detroit origins, the Spinners’ lush, soulful harmonies and magnetic stage presence would come to define Philadelphia soul. They achieved massive crossover success, with their songs filling the airwaves and connecting with listeners around the world.”
But that’s not all we did! On October 10th, following the day-long Summit, an American institution, The Beach Boys headlined the CER@30 Celebration and Unveiling of the 33 Yass Prize Semifinalists, following an exciting program at the Cleveland Fine Arts Museum, which was loaded with surprise announcements from unveiling the new Yass Center for Education, announcing a bonus semifinalist, and sharing a opportunity to receive $100,000 in funding through the new Parent Choice Award. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame said when they were inducted in 1988, “The Beach Boys embodied the sun-kissed dream of California, courtesy of their buoyant surf-rock vibe and heavenly harmonies. Thanks to the imagination, vision and production gifts of Brian Wilson, however, the group also reinvented what pop music could sound like.”
