About
Odyssey Charter School offers the first dual language–English and Greek–immersion program in Delaware. The program follows a two-teacher model with one instructor teaching in English, while the other teaches in Greek. Core academic content is split by subject area between the Greek and the American teacher: the Greek teacher provides instruction in math, science, and Greek language arts, and the English teacher teaches social studies and English Language Arts. The program is free to all students who enroll in Odyssey Charter, and high school graduates are expected to have the credits required to waive foreign language requirements in college. Odyssey Charter School would use the $1 million Yass Prize award to retrofit and build out space in its current facility to enroll more students into its innovative immersion program which it hopes to expand both horizontally and vertically on its K-12 campus.
